Configuring Flight Data settings in Aviato
This guide explains how to configure Flight Data settings to control defaults, fleet behaviour, and carried-forward totals.
Access Flight Data settings
- Open Profile from the dashboard.
- Select Flight Data in the left sidebar.
- The Flight Data Settings page opens.
Fleet & defaults
Use this section to define how Aviato pre-fills flight entries.
Fleet Aircraft
- Add aircraft types you regularly fly.
- These appear first when logging flights and sims.
Default Approach Type
- Sets the default approach (e.g. ILS) for new entries.
- Can be overridden per flight.
Crew count defaults
- Define crew size based on flight duration:
- Short haul
- Medium haul
- Long haul
- Aviato uses these to auto-calculate role and seat allocations.
Select Save to apply changes.
Hours carried forward
This section sets historical totals that appear in exports.
Enter hours that should appear in the Totals Brought Forward row of your logbook PDF.
You can define carried-forward hours for:
- Day flying (P1, P2, P2X, Dual)
- Night flying (P1, P2, P2X, Dual)
- Instrument flying
- Simulator time
- Landings (day and night)
Values are entered in decimal hours
(e.g. 1.5 = 1 hour 30 minutes).
Select Save to update totals.
How these settings are used
- Defaults apply automatically when logging new flights and sims.
- Carried-forward hours appear in PDF exports and cumulative totals.
- Editing these values does not change individual flight records.
Flight Data settings ensure your logbook matches your real-world operation and historical records.
